Elizabeth Breakell is a lifelong student of painting, working primarily in oil . With a background in scientific and technical illustration she has studied with regional and national artists such as Christine LaFuente, Elaine Lisle, Giovanni Casedei and others to round
out her fine art training. She strives to describe light, shadow and atmosphere in my paintings in a loose painterly style whether it be in a landscape, still life or interior.
Fish, Flora, the changing tides, all metaphors for the ebb and flow of life. Objects both mundane and magnificent stand as symbols of the power to endure and blossom with as life changes. Abstraction allows for universal connection and color is essential part of the storytelling process.
