State Street & Veterans Square
Join the fun for the 9th Annual Bastille Day with the Media Arts Council at
Le Village des Enfants.
Bastille Day in Media is a free, family-friendly event brought to you by the Media Arts Council and the Media Business Authority. State Street typically is closed to traffic between Jackson and Orange Streets.
Le Village des Enfants will be open from 6pm to 8pm during Media’s Bastille Day celebration at State Street and Veteran’s Square. Children’s activities include face painting, music, and lanterns, a traditional French symbol of Bastille Day. There will be a barricade just like the one at the Bastille made of boxes decorated by children.
Bastille Day celebrations around the world commemorate the Storming of the Bastille Prison in Paris on July 14, 1789 during the French Revolution. Learn more about the history of Bastille Day by clicking HERE.
