Annette Alessi
painter

Boothwyn, PA

annette@alesssicreations.com

www.alessicreations.com

Pastel and oils are the mediums used in my landscapes, which are inspired by historical locations and places with character. I am attracted to the light that projects the beautiful colors on the subject area. I consider my pastel landscapes to express realism with a sense of impressionism and my oils have more impact of depth and distance.

My subjects tend to be a diverse mix of targets of opportunity: sweeping
weatherscapes, mechanical and architectural forms and patterns, intimate close-ups of natural objects. I enjoy revealing frequently unnoticed mundane details, as in the textures and colors of a weather-beaten structure, the random litter underfoot on a beach, sidewalk, or forest floor.

Watercolor has been my medium. I love it's fluidity and find it exciting to see what the paint and water will do. It leads you into experimental explorations you would never anticipate. What I love is to create a mood with light and color. This piece is mixed media, adding acrylic ink and some gesso for finishing touches. Lately I have begun to explore charcoal and oils.

Folsom, PA

bradhosbach@hotmail.com

Teaching children has really encouraged me to do more of my own work. Many of my paintings are inspired by watching young people in the process of creating art. Music also has a huge effect on my work, happy or sad, every picture needs a soundtrack. I make paintings that will bring color and excitement to someone's humdrum living room or den. I try to make my work affordable so that almost anyone can have original art in their home or apartment, makes for great conversation.

Sonia Sherrod
Mixed Media
Media, PA
soniasherrod@topdrawerdesigns.net
www.tddesigns.blogspot.com

As an assemblage artist, I try to re-create beauty or relativity out of the discarded, broken, and abandoned found objects juxtaposed with my own original 2-d art, old photographs, and words. Disassembling, modifying and altering are an intricate and intuitive process as is the actual collecting of the objects and materials. Creating art that reveals the beauty in something otherwise considered an eyesore or showing the ugliness in an image or thing that is considered desirable is a consistent pursuit in my study of contrasts.
