Opening Reception: Thursday, September 12 Register to attend here
The Henry Gallery at Penn State Great Valley is hosting a group exhibit by The Media Arts Council (MAC) Artist Gallery from September 12 – December 12. The group exhibition features traditional and abstract artists showing how they perceive the idea of Place. Collectively it will examine concepts both personal and universal, with imagery ranging from realistic geographical scenes to abstract inner spaces; and how the identity of our environment has the ability to evoke deep emotion rooted in a sense of belonging to both locals and travelers.
Located in the West End District of Media, the MAC Artist Gallery is a juried collective of visual artists. The MAC Artist Gallery features some of the region’s finest artists displaying works in a wide range of media including oil, acrylic, mixed media, and photography. The award-winning artists originate from both local, national, and international geographical areas offering diverse viewpoints through vast life experiences.
Currently fourteen local artists are represented in the gallery. Nine painters representing diverse styles and mediums include Carrie Barcomb, Lisa Carr, Laurie Doran, Megan Elliott, Matiko Mamaladze, Shannan McConnell, Charley Parker, Cheryl Schlenker and Keith Willis. The gallery also represents five outstanding photographers: Amelia Cain, Patricia Danzon, Rick. Prieur, Wendelin H. Ray and José Sevillano.
Located on the second floor of the Penn State Great Valley Conference Center, the Henry Gallery is free and open to the public Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and when the campus is open for evening events.
