For the second year the Media Arts Council is participating in the Delaware County Open Studio Tour.

Located in the heart of Media, PA, the MAC Artist Gallery is a juried collective of visual artists operating under the supportive branch of  the Media Arts Council (MAC).  The MAC Artist Gallery features some of the region’s finest artists displaying works in a wide range of media including oil, acrylic, mixed media, and photography. MAC’s award winning artists originate from local, national, and international geographical areas offering diverse viewpoints through vast life experiences.

Artists meet monthly to support artistic growth, organize gallery shows, and to promote member visibility to larger audiences in the Philadelphia area. Our gallery supports guest artists as well as displays member works year round. Member artists join together to enrich our area’s culture by displaying works representing a range of traditional and innovative methods, and expressing a variety of concepts and ideas.

Currently 11 local artists are represented in the Media Arts Center & Gallery.

Five painters representing diverse styles and mediums:

Dana Crossan’s abstract paintings combine layers of harmonious color with gestural lines to reflect emotional experience, while painter Cheryl Schlenker’s vibrant Nature influenced abstractions capture the edges and undercurrents of landscape in colorful and geometric images.  Carrie Barcomb’s impressionistic landscapes focus on capturing rhythms of light and nature along the countryside of the  Brandywine Valley, while Russian Georgian born Matiko Mamaladze known as “the romance artist” uses expressive figurative works to capture the lyrical energy of human form and relationships in light-filled settings.  Laurie Doran utilizes digital and traditional painting methods using a soft, soothing color palette combining patterns with illustrative elements.
