Diane Mont - Inspirations
Join us from 5 to 7 pm on Friday, September 2nd for the opening reception of Diane Mont’s Inspirations, at the MAC through September 25.
I like to paint representational
I like to use color expressively paying attention to value
I love the beauty of nature
I first start with dark values and layer into lighter values to help make the paintings rich.
I was inspired by watching kids play with chalk during a dining under the stars event in Media, Pa. I hoped to capture the whimsical sweetness and the joy of being in your own world creating.
I wanted to express the beauty of the Delaware Raritan Canal by showing value, tone, and texture. I used cool tones in behind the trees to show distance and bring out the subtle charms thru details.
I was inspired by a black and white photo from times gone by the photographic record of Great Britain from the Hulton archives: Filling water Barrels at village pond 1905. I made my own interpretation, adding my own color. I have always been and still am charmed by cute little historical villages.
