Patricia Danzon and Laurie Doran: Constancy and Change
Join us Friday, April 7, from 5 to 7 PM for the opening reception of Patricia Danzon and Laurie Doran’s Constancy and Change. The show will be at MAC through April 30.
The world of nature is enduringly constant but also always changing. This paradox of simultaneous constancy and change is equally true of human beings in general and each one of us as individuals. We desire the security and tranquility of things being predictably constant, but also crave the excitement and stimulus of change and newness. The irony perhaps is that change is also a constant, sometimes welcomed, sometimes challenging, but ultimately yielding knowledge, evolution and innovation. Constancy and Change present a delicate balance.
This theme of Constancy and Change inspires the work in this exhibit. Photographer Patricia Danzon captures moods of tranquility and motion in her images, drawn from landscapes, seascapes and abstractions found in nature and in the manmade world. While painter and digital artist, Laurie Doran, uses her work to make sense of the ebb and flow of life; empowering her to present new possibilities and a fresh/ colorful way of looking at things, with quirky semi realistic observations and vibrant abstractions.
