Listening and Learning Jazz Piano with Debbie Poryes

Join us to hear the always joyful jazz pianist Debbie Poryes play an hour set with beloved Philly bassist David Brodie. Then after a little break, Debbie will conduct a hands-on workshop. Those who want can join Debbie at the piano and learn some jazz ideas adjusted to their own level. Others can observe. Debbie is an expert at figuring out what exactly to give an individual student at the right time! She has taught privately for over 30 years as well as having taught at the Hilversum Conservatory in the Netherlands, the Berkeley Jazz school and the Stanford Jazz Summer Workshop. Only recently moving to Philadelphia (and now Media!) from the San Francisco Bay Area a few years ago, she is busily spreading her musical talents to our area.
