Youth Jazz Sundays with Chris Oatts (Copy)
MAC’s monthly jazz performance series featuring young jazz musicians from area high schools and universities as well as a house band of professional jazz musicians. Led by saxophonist Chris Oatts he and local rhythm section will kick off the performance by playing a few selections, and local area high school combos will be invited to perform for and sit in with the professionals. Each performance will have a featured guest artist or theme of the month.

MAC Original Playreading Series: Some Assembly Required by Toby Teiger
In the small town of Loving, New Mexico, Dell has a mission: to tell the people of the far-flung future that there is a dangerous store of nuclear waste hidden below the ground. Her neighbor and morbidly curious classmate, Mara, comes along for the ride after they're assigned to work on a project together for English class. As they grow closer, and the enormity of what's buried in their backyard sinks in, they find that their relationship is changing them: for better, for worse, forever. When Dell's path out of town becomes uncertain, the two will have to choose what they bring with them into their futures, and what they leave behind.

On March 8th 1971, a group known as the Citizens' Commission to Investigate the FBI broke into the FBI office on Veterans Square in Media. The documents that they found exposed illegal surveillance activities by the federal government

About the Play
Emily, a young white painter with a by-the-book mentality, wants nothing more than legitimacy in the eyes of the prestigious art world. When Emily gets the chance to pitch to an influential Curator, out from her paintings emerges a portrait of a lover and competitor: Tae, a Black artist whose speedy rise in the art world left Emily envious and bitter. As the Curator’s critical eye picks apart the person behind the paintings, Emily learns too late what Tae sacrificed to make it.

Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol Dramatic Reading
Join Jared Reed in our fourth annual reading of Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol with original music by Drew Petersen. Originally produced by Curio Theatre Company in West Philadelphia, Jared has crafted the piece from the reading version enacted by Dickens himself.
